 Traveling Nepal with passport expiring in 5 months

Need to travel to Nepal on US passport,but when I exit Nepal passport expires in 5 months . I know it says it needs to have at least six months when I exit the country., in plan to renew it but it takes 4-5 wks to get the new one. Also this is for minor (under 5)...Any experience,suggestions...thx in advance

you are returning to US on US passport, 6 months validity doesn’t apply. Feel free to travel.

Hmm...really...thx...I was checking on embassy sites it said needs to have 6 months validity on exit date so making sure..

Airlines can deny your boarding if your passport expires within 6 months. Make sure it is not a problem with your airlines.

If one is going to a third country, then they wanna see the passport to be valid for at least 6 months. Returning back to home country, nobody cares. Like one can travel to Nepal on Nepalese passport that is expiring in a week.

I called airlines/travel agents...they said as long as when u have 6 months before entry they don't care what it is when leaving...
