The Sudan scam has gained notoriety as it has dragged former chief of Nepal Police Om Bikram Rana and former Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula into controversy. During their tenure, Rs 500 million was spent on the APCs and other equipment.

हे पूर्व राजा ! बालकले भने झै गरी दिन्छोउ कि ? जुन गोरु आए नि कानै चिरेको थैलिनै भिरेको, तिमी ले त भर्नु भरी हालेका छौ बालकको बिलाप सुनेर केही गरी देउ , तिम्रो थैली भरीइ सकेको छ , कही छोडेर आउ अथवा बालकले भने झै छरी देउ, जिऊदामा केही गरेनौ मरे पछी केही गरेर देखाइ दिन्छौ कि ? हैन तिम्रो पुत्रलाई भारत सरकारले त टक्सारनै खोल्यो भनेर बात लगायो नि , हैन कती थैली छन र भर्नु पर्ने , यो कुरा साचो हो भने त तिमीहरु सँग भर्न नसकिने थैली लिएका रहेछौ , चाहिएन तिम्रो फिर्ती । जहाँ छौ तेही ठीक् छ तिमी हरुलाई, हे पूर्व राजा कती कर तिर्यौ ?
