Hello. What's the common procedure among US citizens sponsoring their spouses' visa? Do most people apply for K-1 visa or directly apply for I-130 and I-485? Could someone kindly enlighten the pros and cons of both along with estimated approval time etc? Thank you.

Directly I-130 is the best option. K 1 would take almost the same to get here, but have to do the i-130 and i-485 after beneficiary gets here. It will be a lengthy process and highly costly too.

K-1 is fiance visa not the spousal visa so not applicable if already married. File i130 : 2-5 months of processing time After i130 approval: NVC processing to visa interview: 3-6 months Overall: 7 mobths to a year
