I recently went to an ER without realizing my insurance had expired. I just had fever but to make sure, I went to the hospital. later, to my horror, I received a bill amounting to 1000 dolls. Now I cant pay such kinda money but I dont want to screw my hard earned credit score either. Any suggestions please?

Check with the "billing department" of your hospital and ask if they have financial assistance program. There usually are such assistance programs in most hospitals and low income full time students usually do qualify for those. They might need copies of your current bank statement and last year's w-2 form. If you do qualify, they will try to talk to you about how much you want to pay a month.

If you have a good credit score then you can apply to peer to peer lending programs like lendingclub.com For an excellent score, you will get loan for around 7%. It might help.
